Over the last 30 years as a serial entrepreneur I’ve been a director of 8 UK companies. Some were ones that I’d founded myself. In others I’ve had a non-exec role or been an investor.
I’ve worked closely with a lot of great colleagues on the boards of these companies. I’ve joined them at hundreds of board meetings (both physical and virtual!). I know them well and trust them. They form the core of my personal business network.
I regularly use Companies House information, looking up businesses, checking their accounts and other information. It’s a great resource that is widely used. But it’s hard to get a full picture of a director, a company or their networks.
That insight led to the idea for Numerable. It’s a software-as-a-service solution that lets people quickly explore companies, directors and how they are connected, driven by up-to-date data from Companies House and other public sources. We believe this can give the shortcuts to new companies and contacts that can help a business succeed.
We’ve overcome many technical challenges to implement this vision. We are proud to now release the beta version of the software.
